At least three pedestrians were injured in an explosion at Hotel Victory, Paltan, Dhaka on Wednesday.
This hotel is situated beside the BNP office.
The blast took place on the fifth floor of the Victory Hotel around 7pm, said Paltan Police Station Inspector (investigation) Md Santu Mia.
They suspected that an explasion in the air condition (AC) on the fifth floor of the hotel was responsible, he said. They have received reports of three people being injured in the incident so far. However, the injured are all pedestrians, not anyone of the hotel. The injured were rushed to a local hospital, he further said.
When asked whether it was a sabotage, this official said that a foreigner boarded and he was not in room when it exploded.
However, we called the bomb deposal unit to examine actually what happened. Actual cause will be known after getting their observation, he added.
Meanwhile, Fire Service and Civil Defense’s headquarters control room duty officer Ershad Hossain said that two units went the spot after informed. However, they have returned as there was no casualty.
