Explore brighter prospect in poultry sector: experts

Experts at a views-sharing meeting have stressed for exploring the brighter prospect prevailing in the poultry sector to further accelerate the process of poverty alleviation in rural areas to attain national uplift.
Upazila Livestock Department organised the meeting for the poultry farmers at the hall room of Pirgachha Upazila Livestock Office in Pirgachha upazila town here on Wednesday afternoon.
District Livestock Officer of Rangpur Dr SK Habibur Rahman attended and addressed the meeting as the chief guest with Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Shahidul Islam Akand in the chair.
President of Upazila Poultry Farm Owners’ Association Jahangir Alam Jalal, its General Secretary Mozahedul Islam, Treasurer Abul Hashim, poultry and fish farmers Md. Samsuzzaman, Mozaffar Hossain, Mahbub Hossain Tota and Mostaq Ahmed spoke.
Fifty poultry farmers, including men and women, poultry feed dealers, public representatives and small-scale entrepreneurs in these sectors from all unions in the upazila participated.
The speakers stressed for providing training, knowledge, technology and assistance to the poultry bird farm owners and common people for further accelerating growth of the prospective sector to contribute to the national economy.
Bangladesh has favourable climatic and environmental conditions to flourishing poultry sector faster through imparting proper training, educating the farmers and providing them with necessary inputs and latest technological supports, they said.
