Expatriates in Chittagong have protested against the cancellation of half of the 14 flights scheduled to send back those trapped in the lockdown.They demanded that the flight be resumed from Saturday (April 17) morning in front of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines office at Gate No. 2 of Sholashahar in the city.Earlier, Biman Bangladesh Airlines announced a special flight from Saturday morning to send back the expatriates stranded in the lockdown.
The flights were scheduled to operate to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar and Singapore. Of these, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has five flights.
Expatriate passengers allege that many of them are working as migrant workers in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman. They had booked tickets to return abroad. The visa is coming to an end. Coming from the village with double the fare in the lockdown is now hearing – flight canceled.
Meanwhile, Saudi Airlines has said that the scheduled flight will run from Sunday (April 18) and those who had or have tickets from 14 to 21 will have to re-issue new tickets. Instead of going to the airport, you have to re-issue the tickets from 14th to 21st. Then you have to go through the corona test. Preference will be given to passengers on April 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 in phases.
