Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Policy-2015 will be placed before cabinet meeting soon and the draft of the policy has already been finalized.
The government has taken the initiative aiming to make the overseas employment sector time-befitting to accelerate the sector and strengthen the economy of the country, Joint Secretary of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry Kazi Abul Kalam said the reporters.
Six objectives have been prioritised in the new policy including freedom of employment selection as well as ensuring gender equality in job and it will also help the outbound employees to develop their skill and ensure their family protection, he said.
He said the upcoming policy will keep eye on various sectors like bilateral agreement, memorandum of understanding, creation of new jobs for women employees and encourage them to work and give importance on cost of immigration and success to enhance the overseas employment.
