Expat dies after electrocution at home

An expat died after electrocution while working for electricity at his home at Matlab Uttar Upazila on Saturday at around 10 am.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ibrahim,40, an expat at Malaysia, and son of Mohammad Abdul Malek, hailed from Sadardiya Dubgi village under Gojra union in Matlab Uttar Upazila. He came back home with leave from Malaysia. He was supposed to go back to Malaysia on 12 May. But all his hopes ended in smoke due to his sudden death.
The victim’s wife Sadiya Begum and family sources said, while Ibrahim was working to repair a switch of the electric board in his dwelling house, he ,all of a sudden, contacted a live electric wire and was electrocuted and fell down shouting. Seeing this, his wife Sadiya also shouted for help. At once, he was rushed to the local Matlab Uttar Upazila Health Complex where the on- duty Residential Medical Officer (RMO) Dr Md Mehedi Hassan declared that he had died on the way to hospital.
