Expansion of BD-India air connectivity emphasized

Expansion of air connectivity between Bangladesh and India was emphasized when Indian High Commissioner Harsha Vardahan Shringla on Monday met with Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon at secretariat here.
In the meeting, they said over one million people of both the neighboring countries travel for education, treatment, trade and tourism purposes annually.
To ensure their smooth and comfortable travel, air connectivity in Dhaka-Delhi, Dhaka-Bangalore and Dhaka-Guwahati should be introduced quickly, they said.
Both the minister and the high commissioner stressed on forming regional alliance to foster development.
The high commissioner told the minister that if the London-bound passengers from Shillong could get change of using Sylhet Airport, they could travel to Cox’s Bazaar directly.
The minister assured the high commissioner to look the matter.
