National Legal Aid Day observed: Expanding practice of alternative dispute resolution process stressed

The National Legal-Aid Day- 2015 was observed in Kishoreganj on Tuesday.
 Natioanl Legal-Aid Services Organization , Kishoreganj district committee aranged discussion, rally, seminar, legal aid fair, documentary film and cultural function marking the day.
A discussion meeting was held at Kishoreganj Judge Court premise on Tuesday afternoon.
District Legal-Aid committee chairman and Senior District & Session Judge Freedom Fighter Md. Mahabu-ul Islam presided over the meeting.
Chief Judicial Megistrate Md. Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, Police Super Md. Anowar Hossain Khan and Zila Parished Administrator Advocate Md. Zillur Rahman were attended as special guest.
It was addressed among others by Bar President & P.P Advocate Shah Azizul Haque, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman, Dist. Legal Aid officer Mahamudul Islam, Bar Secretory Advocate Shahidul Alam Sahid, Saiful Quddus of POPI, Women Affaires officer Kamiza Yesmin, DD of Social Service Shamsul Alam, Senior Advocate Dolon Bhomik, P.P of ACC Adv Abdur Rahman and G.P Adv Bijoy Sonkor Roy.
Barisal Correspondent adds: National Legal Aid Services Day- 2015 was observed by the district legal aid committee in Barisal District Judge Court Compound on Tuesday stressing for expanding practice of alternative dispute resolution process. A day-long fair with 13 stalls of GO NGO and donors with informative materials about legal rights and offered aid services organised at the district judge court compound.
A voluntary blood donation camp, procession on city roads and a discussion meeting at district bar association auditorium were also held on this occasion.
Anwarul Haque, district and session judge and district chairman of legal aid committee inaugurated the programmes on Tuesday morning and presided over the discussion held at afternoon. Judges, magistrates, public prosecutor, government pleader, leaders of bar association, administrative and police officials, representatives from different legal aid service providers attended the programmes styled as ‘door opened to receive legal aid from government , adding this time alternative dispute resolution process ( sarkari aini sahayota power unmukta holo dar, bikalpo birodh nishpotti sangjukto holo ebar). The speakers and participants of the programmes said Bangladesh Constitution guaranteed the rights of ‘access to justice’ and entitlements to be equally treated at the refuge of legal protection in all sorts of legal crisis for the people, irrespective of social, racial and political orientations.

District Legal-Aid Committee arranged a colourful rally, discussion, blood donation and Legal-Aid Mela on the occasion.
A discussion meeting organised by District Legal-Aid Committee was held at Judge Court premise in the afternoon. District and Judge Md , Monjur Bashid presided over the meeting. It was addressed among others by Rangpur division Commissioner Delor Bokt , Deputy Commissioner Farid Ahamad ,Special Judge Monsur Ahamad , Chief Judicial D. G A, B, AM Mahamudul haq, Police Abdur Razzak .
