Intervention of administration including Prime Minister, Home Minister, Land Minister and Police Commissioner was sought by the Kotwali-Bakalia Distressed Landless Sangram Oikya Parishad, Chittagong to check unabated grabbing of khas land in Charbakalia under Bakalia thana in city yesterday..
This was disclosed at a press conference at Chittagong Press Club Auditorium with its President Moslemuddin in the chair yesterday.
Advisor of the Oikya Parishad and Boxirhat AL Ward Member Noor Mohammad read out the written statement before the media men.
Among others local AL leader Kazi Azizullah, Anu Miah, Reazul Karim Reja were present in the press meet. The press meet was told that Rohingya citizens Md. Jasimuddin, Moinuddin Gang allegedly occupied the govt khas and about 2 kilometers on northern bank of Karnaphuli River under Bakalia thana where erected semi pucca dwelling houses, shops for rent and sold these occupied khas land at a tk.2- 3 lakh per kuta.
Moreover , this Rohingya gang duly supported by Jamaat shibir men are randomly running drug business and alleged trafficking of women and children linking with Myanmar and turned a den of drug yaba business, the press meet added.
In this connection, a memorandum was also submitted to Prime Minister,Home Minister, land minister and Police commissioner on February 24 last but no action yet to be sighted against the Jasimuddin gang.
The press meet demanded exemplary punishment against the rohingya citizens with immediate arrest and recovery of khasland from their illegal possession, sources said.
