Exemplary punishment of August 21 grenade attackers demanded

Leaders of Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies here on Monday demanded for unveiling masks of the masterminds of August 21 grenade attacks and their exemplary punishments.
They made the demand from a human chain organised jointly by district and city units of AL at Katchari Bazar to observe the 13th anniversary of the gruesome August 21 grenade attack and show respect to martyrs of the barbaric carnage.
The district and city units of AL, Awami Swechchasebak League, Sramik League, Jubo League, Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Jubo League and other associate bodies of AL chalked out programmes in observance of the black day.
The programmes included hoisting of the national flag, party flag at half mast and black flag placing wreath on the portrait of Bangabandhu and martyrs of August 21 grenade attacks, wearing black badges and observance of one-minute silence.
President of AL unit Shafiur Rahman Shafi presided over the human chain programme followed by a discussion participated by hundreds of leaders and activists of the district and city units of AL and its associate bodies.

Leaders of the ‘Neel Dal’ teachers’ group of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) at a human chain programme here have demanded for speedy trial of masterminds of August 21 grenade attack.
The ‘Neel Dal’ organised the programme at the campus on Monday in observance of the 13th anniversary of the gruesome August 21 grenade attack at the anti-terrorism rally of Awami League (AL) on August 21, 2004, a release said today.
Presided over by President of ‘Neel Dal’ Dr Shafik Ashraf, its General Secretary Apel Mahmud, Members Professor Dr Abu Saleh Md Wadudur Rahman, Jubaer Ibne Taher, Belal Uddin, among others, addressed the programme.
