Special task force of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) in a drive on Monday discovered electricity stealing at a six storied building, Road No 4, Banosri, Dhaka. Instantly the task force fined him Tk4,90,000 for average consuming about16000 unit electricity.
A former tax commissioner has been living at 3000 square feet apartment with the members of his family, using five air conditioners and other electric appliance. But to hide the real consumption of electricity, he technically put off base plate from electricity meter.
Chief of DPDC taskforce Muhammad Munir Chowdhury informed it to media adding that such crime committed by the people of elite society is a unfortunate matter.
