Former Professor of Islamic Studies Department of Dhaka University (DU) Dr Muhammad Ruhul Amin passed away due to illness at his resident in the city on Saturday night. He was 63.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and host of relatives and admires to mourn his death.
Professor Ruhul Amin was laid to eternal rest at his ancestral home at Laksam in Comilla.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique expressed profound shock at the death of Professor Ruhul Amin.
In a message of condolence, the VC said, “Professor Ruhul Amin discharged his duty with sincerity as a dedicated teacher of the university”.
His contributions to the university will remain alive through his academic and administrative activities, he added.
Arefin also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and
conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
