Former City Mayor Md. Monzoor Alam has distributed relief materials to the water marooned people of south Patenga in city on Wednesday .
Under the auspices of Mostafa Hakim Welfare Foundation , former mayor distributed relief materials to 300 families there, sources said.
The relief materials include essential commodities , dry food items and cooked foods. During his visit in Patenga , Manzoor Alam also visited the erosion site of Patenga embankment near 12 No ghat . Former Mayor also talked with the city Mayor AJM Nasiruddin over cellphone to construct a culvert immediately in the erosion area to ease the sufferings of the local dwellers.
Mentionable that following the incessant rain alongwith high tidal water from August 28 last, the embankment at No.12 ghat under city ward No.41 was broken where atleast 300 families remained marooned by water.
