The government has suspended former Jamalpur deputy commissioner Ahmed Kabir over a video of him in a compromising position with a female employee in his office.
Two video clips of the incident went viral on Face book.
“Ahmed Kabir has been suspended in line with the Government Employee Discipline and Appeal Rules-2018, effective from Wednesday (Sept 25),” Additional Public Administration Secretary (Discipline and Investigation Division) Md Monir Uddin said in a media statement on Friday.
He said Ahmed Kabir has been temporarily suspended on the basis of an inquiry report of the cabinet division. With this, departmental action has been started against him. Then other measures will be taken according to the government services rules.
“Further steps will be taken against according to the law,” he added.
On Aug 25, the government withdrew Kabir as the deputy commissioner of Jamalpur attached him to the ministry as an officer on special duty (OSD).
