A retired army officer reportedly committed suicide at Nabinagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district early Thursday.
Deceased Khandaker Rafiqul Islam Sujon, 90, was a resident of Rasullabad village in the upazila. He has been in a state of mental imbalance over the past few days.
Locals spotted the body hanging from a tree nearby the house at about 4:00 am.
Being informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue, said Nabinagar Police Station sub-inspector Rajib Pal.
