Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent :
In the face of the movement, the eviction of illegal occupants of the railway site in Paksey of Ishwardi has been repeatedly postponed. The latest eviction was postponed for seven days on February 15, despite all preparations. It is said that the illegal occupants themselves have to remove the installation within seven days. But even after seven days, it has been reported that the illegal occupants have not yet removed the installation.
In Paksey, 160 families have illegally settled on the railway site by protecting the Hardinge Bridge. They have been living for about 10-15 years. According to the Railway Real Estate Office, the 170 families were given a final notice on February 8 to remove their illegal establishments within seven days. Even then they were living there without following the instructions. As this did not work, the Paksey Divisional Real Estate Department with the help of Ishwardi Thana and Railway Police prepared for the eviction on 14 February.
Seeing this arrangement of eviction, the people of Pak held a human chain and a road meeting demanding not to evict the 160 families. In response to the demand, the railway authorities suspended the eviction drive.
