Chittagong Port Authority will conduct much talked eviction drive today (Monday) at Laldiar Char under Patenga thana in the city. Senior port officials met on Saturday last and briefed the local ward councilor and the Laldiar Char Rehabilitation Implementation Committee. The port chairman was also present at the time.
An official present at the meeting said that the port authorities were compelled to conduct an eviction drive in Laldiar Char in view of the High Court verdict.To this end, a preliminary plan has been made to carry out the eviction campaign in six zones under the leadership of six magistrates. Initiatives have been taken to deploy the required number of RAB, police and Ansar.
