As many as 23 out of 28 members of the European Union (EU) have invested in Vietnam with a total cumulative capital of over 18.95 billion U.S. dollars.
According to statistics by the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) under Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment yesterday, cumulatively, the EU invested in 1,535 valid projects in Vietnam.
Processing and manufacturing industry was the most attractive to EU investors with over 547 projects worth over 6 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 31.8 percent of total investment.
Electricity and gas sector stayed the second with 19 projects worth 3.52 billion U.S. dollars, making up 18.6 percent of the capital while other 11.6 percent of the investment flowed into the sector of information and communications, said the FIA.
