Ensuring international quality of industrial products stressed

Ensuring international standard and quality of locally manufactured products has become crucial to face the challenges of globalisation in flourishing local industries to enhance trade, business and exports.
High officials, industrialists and business leaders expressed the view at launching function of the month-long ‘Rangpur International Industry and Trade Fair (RIITF)-2018’ on the Police Lines Ground on Tuesday afternoon.
Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) is organising the fair where 105 stalls have been set up by entrepreneurs, industries and organisations from all over the country showcasing international standard local products.
Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Joynul Bari and Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud jointly with noted industrialists and chamber leaders inaugurated the fair.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner addressed the function as the chief guest with RCCI President Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu in the hair.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud, President of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Acting President of district Awami League (AL) Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its Office Secretary Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, city AL General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal, addressed as special guests.
Senior Vice-president of RCCI and Convener of its Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Sub-committee Mostoba Hossain Ripan delivered welcome speech.
Incumbent and former members and directors of RCCI, leaders of different trade and business organisations, industrialists, businesspersons, bankers, civil society members, journalists and elite were present.
Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury discussed the prevailing prospects for flourishing small, medium and large-scale industrialisations in Rangpur region and some challenges being by local entrepreneurs.
Mostafa Azad Chowdhury Babu suggested local entrepreneurs for investing more to speed up industrialisation for creating employments for local people to further accelerate the pace of national development.
He specially underlined the importance of producing quality industrial products ensuring international standard to attract foreign buyers and increase export.
The chief guest said the fair would definitely play a vital role in exploring brighter prospect for industrialisation in Rangpur region where the Uttara Export Processing Zone has been producing export oriented international standard and high quality products.
“Such type of international standard industry and trade fair factually reflects the country’s massive developments inspiring local entrepreneurs and industrialists to showcase their products and marketing of those,” he said.
