English language workshop at DIU

A corporate workshop on “Special English Language Skill Development” held at Daffodil International University (DIU) recently jointly organized by the English Department and the Daffodil Institute of Languages (DIL) in collaboration with Evolysis Ltd. Rumana Ahmed, Communications Manager, GlaxoSmithKline Bangladesh Ltd made a presentation as the resource person. Dr Binoy Barman, Director, DIL, and Umme Kulsum, Head, Department of English, also spoke on the occasion. From Evolysis, Rehan Azad, Business Development Manager, and Tanvir Hasan Khan, Marketing Executive, were present.
 Rumana Ahmed in her presentation elaborated on how to prepare for career, starting from CV writing to facing interview, from office decorum to corporate culture. She answered to different questions asked by the students. More than forty students of English Department, belonging to 22nd-25th batches, took part in the workshop.
 This corporate workshop will be followed by a workshop on Aptis, which will focus on the preparations for the test. Finally, the students will appear at Aptis, as offered by British Council and implemented by Evolysis in Bangladesh. The test will be completed in phases during October 2014.
 The initiative has been taken to link up the department to corporate world and help students in job placement. Nowadays Aptis is favored by many organizations in Bangladesh and elsewhere.
