England Cricket team will come in March,2023 in Bangladesh to play a three-match One Day International (ODI) series and a three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Bangladesh Cricket team.
Earlier, England Cricket team were scheduled to arrive in Dhaka in September this year. But suddenly England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) suspended England Cricket teams tour in Bangladesh in September this year. The ECB confirmed on Tuesday that it will send its team in March in 2023. ECB expressed that they took this decision after discussing with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
England Cricket team will tour in the first week of March. They will play at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur and the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
The three-match ODI series and three-match T20I series between Bangladesh Cricket team and England Cricket team were scheduled to arrive in the city in this year’s September as the ICC World T20 was scheduled to held in India in this year. As there is a similarity of the condition of India and Bangladesh, England Cricket team wanted to tour Bangladesh in September. Later, the ICC World T20 and the Indian Premier League (IPL) were scheduled to held in United Arab Emirates due to coronavirus situation of India. However, the ECB cancelled England Cricket team’s tour as the matches of IPL were scheduled to held in UAE in September-October. Thus the players of England Cricket team were interested to play in IPL rather than Bangladesh series.
The England series was very much important for Bangladesh as a preparation of ICC World T20. But Bangladesh have to take preparation of the gala tournament after playing against Australia and New Zealand.
