Title aspirants England will face ‘Dark Horse’ Croatia in the second semi-final of the FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow today. The do-or-die match kicks-off at 12.00 am BDT (Bangladesh Time).
Private satellite channels Maasranga Television and Nagorik Television will telecast the match live.
On way to semi-final, England took their place in ‘Last Four’ after crushing Sweden by two goals to nil in their quarter-final match on July 7, while Croatia reached the semi-final beating hosts Russia by 4-3 goals in the tie-breaker of the quarter-final on the same day.
The England squad are talking to press ahead of their semi-final match against Croatia.
Prior to that, English star forward and Captain Harry Kane urged his team to “finish the job in Russia.”
“That’s what we wanted to do when we set out. We wanted to play good football, work hard, play with passion, and we have done that. So we are enjoying it. We can see the fans enjoying it here and back home and so we have just got to try and keep it going. We are one step closer to what is the biggest game in football as a professional. We said we wanted to write our own history. Hopefully, we can go one step further than 1990 and get to the final,” Kane stated. “It’s been a long time since England have done well in a major tournament, and we’ve got a tough game coming up against Croatia, but we feel confident.”
“Always playing England is special,” Croatian Captain Modric said. “They are a great team. They are having a great tournament so far, like us. But they showed again the great quality they have. We are expecting a tough match. But we’ll be ready.”
“Yeah, we have less days to recover for this match,” Modric said. “But I’m sure we will recover well. It’s the semi-final: We will find extra motivation, extra strength, extra everything that is necessary for these kind of games.”
