Employees recruited through outsourcing in Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SSNMCH), Kishoreganj have been observing working strike since Wednesday morning demanding arrears of salaries and allowances.
According to the protesters, at least 155 employees of the hospital are working through outsourcing. Besides, 61 people are working on daily wage basis. The hospital authorities have not yet paid the wages of those who are working on a wage basis. In this situation, 216 employees have taken part in the strike to ensure their salaries and allowances.
Meanwhile, medical services at the hospital are being disrupted due to the movement of the employees. As a result, about one thousand patients, including covid-19, who are being treated at the 500-bed hospital, have fallen into extreme distress.
