Sports Reporter :Bangladesh posted an emphatic 51-run victory over UAE in their second match of the Asia Cup Twenty20 at the flood-lit Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.Sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored a fighting total of 133 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then they shot out UAE for 82 off 17.4 overs. Bangladesh made an auspicious start with Mohammad Mithun and Soumya Sarkar, the two openers put on together 46 runs for the opening stand before Soumya Sarkar was caught at the mid-on by Amjad Javed off Mohammad Shahzad.Later, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad built another notable partnership for the hosts. They contributed together 29 runs for the fifth wicket stand before Shakib Al Hasan was cleanly bowled out by Amjad Javed when Bangladesh’s total was 112 for the loss of five wickets.Opener Mohammad Mithun hit a sparkle 47. His 41-ball innings was studded with four fours and two sixes while Mahmudullah Riyad remained unbeaten with 36. He hit two sixes and a four in his 27-ball knock. Besides, Soumya Sarkar added 21 runs to the Bangladesh’s total.Mohammad Naveed and Amjad Javed bagged a pair of wickets each instead of 12 and 34 runs respectively.Besides, Rohan Mustafa and Mohammad Shahzad took one wicket each.Later, most of the batsmen of UAE were helpless against the superb bowing attack of Bangladeshi bowlers. Mahmudullah Riyad, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan bagged a couple of wickets each for five, 12,13 and 20 runs respectively. Besides, Taskin Ahmed and Al-Amin Hossain took one wicket apiece.United Arab Emirates faced an early batting jolt as they lost their five wickets for 34 runs.Pacer Al-Amin Hossain dismissed opener Mohammad Kaleem for naught.Mashrafe Bin Mortaza dismissed Rohan Mustafa for 18 and picked up Shaiman Anwar for one.New sensation Mustafizur Rahman removed Mohammad Shahzad for 12 and dismissed SP Patil for zero.When SP Patil returned to the pavilion UAE’s score was 34 for the loss of five wickets.Later, Amjad Javed was hit wicket by a delivery of Mahmudullah Riyad when UAE’s total was 45 for the loss of six wickets.Then Fahad Tariq was stumped out by Nurul Hasan off Shakib Al Hasan when UAE’s total was 46 for the loss of seven wickets.Seven-down Saqlain Haider was caught at the cover by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza off Mahmudullah Riyad when UAE’s score was 55 for the loss of eight wickets.Pacer Taskin Ahmed dismissed Muhammad Usman when UAE’s score was 71 for the loss of nine wickets. Usman was the most successful batsman of UAE. He hit run-a-ball 30 featuring two fours and two sixes.Ahmed Reza, the last batsman of UAE was stumped out by Nurul Hasan off Shakib Al Hasan when UAE’s innings came to an end.Mahmudullah Riyad was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
