One people was killed in an elephant stampede in Jungle Kalipur of Banskhali upazila here on Friday.
The victim was Amulla Rudra, 51, son of Niru Rudra of the same village.
Locals said, a herd of wild elephants entered in the locality at about 11 am and went on a rampage.
Amulla fell victim as he went to the area to collect timber.
Local people recovered his body in the afternoon from the trail of the hill.
