Robbers looted valuables worth Tk seven lakh from a showroom of electronic goods at Wahab Market in the city’s suburban area of Ashulia early Thursday.
Abdul Wahab, owner of the market, said a gang of robbers stormed the showroom, tied and beat its security guard at around 4:00am. They looted seven refrigerators, seven television sets, two sewing machines and eight sound systems.
Hearing the hue and cry, locals rescued the security guard, Aminur Rahman, 30, and sent him to a local private hospital.
A case has been filed in this connection, said Mohasinul Kadir, Officer-in Charge (OC) of Ashulia Police Station.
“We are trying to arrest the robbers,” the OC said.
