Bijoynagar, Brahmanbaria :
The biennial general election of Brahmanbaria Press Club-2020 has been held. Riaz Uddin Jami has won the election as president and Jabed Rahim Bijan as General Secretary.
Voting was held on Monday (September 21) from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm at the Brahmanbaria Press Club auditorium.
The other winners are Piyush Kanti Acharya Senior Vice President, Ibrahim Khan Shahdat Vice President, Nazrul Islam Shahzada Treasurer, Md Mujibur Rahman Office Secretary and Mozammel Hossain Chowdhury Cultural and Information Technology secretary.
In the election, 16 candidates contested for 11 posts. The Election Commission declared four of them winners without contest. The winners were Syed Riaz Ahmed Apu (Daily Bhorer Kagoj) for the post of Joint General Secretary, HM, Library and Sports Secretary.
Siraj (Daily Share Biz), Md. Monir Hossain (Daily Desh Rupantar) as General Member and Farhadul Islam Parvez (Alokit Bangladesh) as General Member.
District Election Officer and Returning Officer in charge of Press Club Election Mohammad Zillur Rahman announced the election results. He said the voting was completed in a peaceful and orderly atmosphere and in a festive manner. He said four candidates have been declared elected as there are no rival candidates for the four posts.
