Elderly father of expatriate assaulted

The elderly father of an expatriate Bangladeshi was allegedly assaulted by some unknown miscreants at his village home of village Dupchar, under Laksam Police Station of Comilla district. `
The victim was identified as Birendra Kumar Singha aged 85, the son of Late Gopal Chandra Singha.
It is alleged that some 7 to 8 miscreants came to his village home at around 7pm on 12 December, 2018. They looked for and wanted to know the whereabouts of his eldest son Suranjit Kumar Singha aged 50.
Seeing the youths Birendra became frightened and expressed his inability to tell them anything about his son. Becoming much furious at this, the youths scolded Birendra using filthy words and assaulted him physically.
The miscreants fled the spot when Birendra’s family members and
neighbours rushed hearing hue and cry. While leaving the place, they
threatened to kill Birendra and his son Suranjit and added that nobody
could save them from their clutch.
After having faced such a panic-stricken situation Birendra Kumar Singha fell ill and feels helpless amid insecurity. He sought adequate security measures from the authorities concerned. A General Diary (GD) was lodged with Laksam Police Station in connection with the incident on 13 December, 2018.
Mentionable, Suranjit Kumar Singha is involved with different social,
humanitarian and religious organisations.
