A youth was hacked to death allegedly by his elder brother at Purakhali under Abhaynagar upazila in Jessore on Saturday noon.
The dead was identified as Kamal Hossain, 35, son of Abdul Maleq Mollah of Purakhali village.
Confirming the information, Sheikh Nasir Uddin, officer in-charge, Abhaynagar police station told that the youth was hacked to death following feud over a plot of inherited land.
Locals of the police said younger brother Kamal Hossain, his father Abdul Maleq Mollah and Kamal’s wife Razia Begum were wounded in attacks carried out by elder brother Shahjahal Ali, his sons Khalil Hossain and Shamim Hossain and nephews – Habi Sarker and Nizam Sarker at around 11:30 am. The wounded were rushed to Abhaynagar upazila Health Complex where Kamal died at around 12 noon. They came under as Kamal went to the land, which was registered in his name by his father, to pick mangoes.
