Eight minors drown in dists

The dead bodies of eight children were found in pond water in several districts on Tuesday.
In Laximpur, two minor children were drowned in a pond of Raipura upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Sumaiya Akter, 7, daughter of one Nazrul Islam and Mim Akhter, 9, daughter of one Mizan Hossain. Both kids were students of a local madrasa.
Md Tota Miah, Officer in-Charge of Raipura Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
In Habiganj, two missing five-year-old boys were
found floating dead in a pond near their house, a day after they disappeared, police said.
The pond is in the village of Ballavpur of Bariudi union of Baniachong upazila They reportedly went missing on Monday noon.
The deceased were identified as Salman Ahmed, 5, son of Soyful Mia and Taif Ahmed, 5, son of Tofazzul Haque. The fathers of the two children are Kuwaiti expatriates.
Officer-in-Charge of Baniachong Police Station (OC) Rashed Mubarak told media that Salman and Tofazzal were not found since Monday noon. Later, the family members made an announcement about their disappearance in the area. In the morning, locals spotted bodies of the two children floating in the pond near their house and informed police.
Two bodies were recovered from the spot and sent to Habiganj Modern District Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Family members claimed that the two children were drowned in the water. However, the police official said that they would investigate whether there was any other reason behind the death.
In Magura, at least three minor kids reportedly drowned in separate incidents of the district on Monday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Akayeed, 2, son of one Enamul Haque of Gangnia village in Sadar upazila and Waz Kuruni, 5, son of Atar Ali of Kukila village.
Meanwhile, a four-year-old boy Nasim Sheikh, son of Halim Sheikh of Sachilapur village in Sreepur upazila, met the tragic end of his life when he fell into a pond near their house. Additional Superintendent of Police Tariqul Islam told the news media. Separate unnatural death cases were lodged over the drowning incidents.
In Bogura, a minor boy named Nabil Hossain, 6, reportedly drowned in a pond while he was playing beside his residence on Tuesday noon.
