Eight killed in road accidents

At least eight persons were killed and five others injured in two separate road accidents at Kahalu and Adamdighi upazilas in Bogra district on Monday night.
The deceased were identitified as Tara Miah, 35, Madhu, 20, Lokman, 40, Sada Miah, 40, Delwar, 70, and Abdur Rahman, 30, both were farmers and inhabitants of Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha district, Abdul Mazid, 30, from Adamdighi upazila and Pappu alias Pasa, 24, inhabitant of Kahalu upazila, police said.
Kahalu Police Station’s Inspector (Investigation) Quamruzzaman said that
the accident occurred when a truck collided head-on with a farm labourers packed human hauler in the Sekhahar area under Kahalu upazila around 11:00pm, leaving two men dead on the spot and six others injured. The injured were sent to the Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital where four of them succumbed to their injuries.
Meanwhile, another accident took place when a a truck hit a motorcycle at Thalpara crossing under Adamdighi upazila, leaving two motorcycle riders Mazid and Pasa dead on the spot and another injured, said Officer-in-Charge of Adamdighi thana Moslem Uddin.
Two separate cases were filed in this connection, police sources said.
