The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival for the Muslim community , was celebrated in different districts with due fervor, joy, enthusiasm, gaiety and solemnity on Friday. Our correspondents and agencies report:
Gouripur( Mymensingh) Correspondent reports: The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival of the Muslim Ummah, was celebrated with due rituals, sacrifice and solemnity. across Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district on Friday.
 During this three-day festival, Muslims were mandated to slaughter designated animals such as sheep, goat, cows, and camels – depending on the availability and cultural norms of the region.
This ‘sacrifice is carried out in commemoration of Prophet Ebrahim’s readiness to sacrifice his son to show obedience to Allah. Meanwhile, many people from different places came to their village homes to celebrate the festival with their near endear ones.
 The stage was almost set for smooth holding of Eid prayers in the town of Gouripur and elsewhere. The main Eid congregation was held at Khelar Mathh Eidgah Maidan near the Gouripur Stadium around 9:05 am and the second largest congregation in the town was held at Islamabad Madrasha’s playing ground at 9.15 am being looked after by Gouripur Pourashava.
Important public houses, thoroughfares and road sides of the town were decorated with national flags , gates and banners inscribed with ‘Eid Mubarak’.
 Leaders of different political and socio cultural organisations in their messages greeted the people. It was also seen that Freedom Fighter Dr. Capt. Alhajj Mujibur Rahman Fakir (Retd.) MP, Former State Minister for Health & Family Welfare came to different Eid congregations to greet the people.
On the occasion, devotees offered Eid prayers and sacrifice animals afterwards. They also distribute meat of the sacrificial animals among the poor as well as the destitute.
Besides, on Thursday morning about 2 hundred Muslims who are followers to the Sureshuri Mazar at Shariatpur, celebrated their Eid under the leadership of Pir Syed Shahnur Abtab Parvez Nuri at village Bahadurpur of this upazila.
Narsingdi Correspondent reports: The holy Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated in Narsingdi dis trict on Friday with due religious fervor and festivity.
The main Eid congregation was held at the callectorate Eidgah abjaent to the local DC office under the auspices of the district administration.
Khatib of Collectorate Mosque Mowlana Nasir Uddin lead the jamaat. Leaders of political parties, elite of the town professionals joined the congregation.
The other Eid congregations were also held at Datta para Eidgah, Chinishpur Eidgah , Narsingdi Government Collage Eidgah, Police Line Eidgah Ground, Jamea Kashemia Madrasha Eidgah ground, Ranggamaty Eidgh, Shatirpara Eidgh, Baluakandi Madrasha Eidgah, Kawarapara Poura Eidgah Ground, Banichal Sapnar Eidgah, Vhalanogar Eidgah, Shaprotab Eidgah Chowalla Eidgah, Birpur Eidgah .
Thausands of Muslims offered special munajat seeking divine blessings and peace of the departed soul and continued peace progress and prosperity of the country and Muslim Ummah.
They also visited to relatives, Friends and neighbors exchange greeting amibst festive mood.
Deputy commissioner Abuhena Morshed Zaman Paid exchange greeting to Government officials elite of the town and other at collectorate Eidgah and local, House , He also exchange greeting to the orphan and disadvantage children.
After the prayers, thousands of Muslims offered special munajats seeking divine blessing and eternal peace of the departed souls, Continued peace, Progress and prosperity of the country and the Muslim Ummah, The Musullis also embraced with each other and exchanged Eid greetings saying Eid Mubark.
Barisal Correspondent says: Eid- ul- Azha was observed with due respect on Friday in Barisal.
After completing Eid congressional prayers, Muslim community members slaughtered sacrificial animal and distributed part of the meat among poor, relatives, neighbours as the Eid ul Azha ritual.
The main Eid Jamat in Barisal city held on Hemayet Uddin Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am Friday.
BCC Mayor, lawmaker, judges, socio – political-cultural personalities, high-ranking government officials as well as general mass and female worshipers participated in prayer here led by Mawlana Shihabuddin.
Double Eid Jamats arranged in the city centers at Zame Ebaedullah mosque, Zame Kasai mosque, Baitul Mokarram Mosque, Zame Nuria School Mosque, Police Line Mosque between 7:30 – 9:30 am, Mawlana Kazi Abdul Mannan, Barisal unit president of Jatiya Iamam Samity added.
Besides more than 150 Eid Jamat held this year all over the Barisal city area.
Except these main Eid Jamats of the city other large Eid prayers of the region held at Guthia Baitul Aman Mosque, Charmonai Darbar Sharif under Barisal, Nesarabad Darbar Sharif under Jhalakathi, Sharshina Darbar Sharif under Pirojpur, Mirzaganj Mazar Sharif under Patuakhali and Mokamia Madrasha ground under Barguna districts between 8:00-9:30 am.
Many small Eid Jamat arranged at almost all local mosques, Jatiya Imam Samity Sources said.
Besides more than forty-five thousand people of twelve thousand families observed Eid ul Azha on Thursday in accordance with Saudi Arabia in 80 places of 10 upazilas under Barisal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Jhalakati and Barguna districts.
BSS from Rajshahi says: The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival for the Muslims, was celebrated in Rajshahi city with due fervor, joy, enthusiasm, gaiety and solemnity as elsewhere in the district Friday.
In the morning, streams of people- young, old and children rushed to the nearest eid grounds, mosques and open places and offered their Eid prayers.
The main Eid jamaat was held at Hazrat Shah Mukhdum ® Central Eidgah Moidan at 8am. Principal of Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Mufti Muhammad Shahdat Ali conducted the prayers.
Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, Commissioner of Rajshahi division Helaluddin Ahemd and Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury offered their Eid prayers along with other dignitaries at the Central Eidgah.
The second largest one was held at City Eidgah (Tikapara) at the same time and the third largest at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point at 8.15 am.
Besides, some other big Eid jamaats in the city were held at Hatemkha, Stadium Ground, Shalbagan, Alif Lam Meem Bhata Eidgah, Police Line Parade Ground, Mohisbathan Eidgah math, Upashahar Eidgah Moidan, RUET campus and Rajshahi University campus.
Around 130 other Eid jamaats were held at the traditional and temporary venues in the Rajshahi metropolis.
Thousands of devotees at the end of Eid jamaats (congregations) offered special munajats (prayers) seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of departed souls particularly their near and dear ones, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and as well as greater welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
After the Eid congregations, the Muslim devotees sacrificed their beloved beasts in the name of almighty Allah. Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) decorated the city’s important points and road islands with National and colorful flags inscribed with “Eid Mubarak”.
Improved diets were served to the inmates of different hospitals, jails, Shishu Paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centres on the occasion.

The main congregation was held at local Chnadmari ground where thousands of Muslims attended the Jamaat.

Later, the Muslims devotees sacrificed thousands of animals- cow, goat, sheep and buffalos- in the name of Almighty Allah in commemorating the supreme sacrifice made by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
BSS from Rangpur adds: The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of the Muslims, was celebrated today here with due solemnity, festivity and religious fervor.
The concerned administrations and authorities have ensured peaceful celebrations of the religious festival through taking necessary steps and deploying adequate number of police, Ansar-VDP, RAB forces and volunteers.
The Muslims of all ages, attired in traditional Eid-dresses, offered Eid-ul-Azha prayers and munajats at Eidgahs and mosques seeking divine blessings and eternal peace for departed souls of nearer and continued peace and prosperity of the country, its people and Muslim Ummah.
The national flags have been hoisted atop all government, semi-government. Private buildings and mosques, Eidgahs, streets and major buildings have been decorated with colourful flags and banners inscribed with Eid Mubarak both in Bangla and Arabic.
Improved diets are being served to inmates of all hospitals, jails, shishu paribars, orphanages and vagrant welfare centres in the district. Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) in association with the district and police administrations arranged the main Eid-ul-Azha congregations at the Central Collectorate Eidgah at 8:30 am where high dignitaries took part.
