Most of the shopkeepers are passing very busy time in most of the shopping plazas and super markets in the capital with the stalk of the holy Ramadan.
“I have bought several sets of dresses and searching for other Eid items for my kids. I want to avoid the last moments rush in shopping plazas,” said Amina Ahmed, a mother of a daughter and a son aged between six and eight at Rajdhani Super Market of Tikatuli in the capital city.
Amina Ahmed, resident of Jatrabari area go to the market for shopping on every occasion, she said. Similarly, Tamanna Sayeeda and two of her children are also found to choose their favourite garments and shoes in the market.
Shop keepers of Rajdhani Super market and nearby Chowdhury Shopping Mall said that the number of customers are becoming more and more to their satisfaction.
“Since the first day of the holy Ramadan, consumers are on rush in the market and we are passing busy time selling Eid clothing, shoes, cosmetics, toiletries and ornaments,” Shafiqur Rahman a shop keeper from Rajdhani Super market told The New Nation on Friday.
The similar view were found in Gawsia Super Market, Dhanmondi Super market, New Market and other shopping plazas in nearby Elephant Road areas.
Ayeesha Alviya, a young lady said she and her mother were passing very busy times in the past couple of days for buying Eid items from the New Market and the Gawsia Market for their full family living in Dhanmondi.
“We are keen to buy Eid dresses and other fashion wears from these shopping malls before starting of the acute rush in those markets in the close days of the Eid-ul Fitr,” Ayeesha Alviya said.
“We don’t like to hurry, but we want to buy everything in relax mood. So that we choose at the beginning of Ramadan for family members,” she said while choosing a pink colour dress in a shop of Gawsia market.
Meanwhile, Panjabee and shoe markets and shops in the Elephant roads were found with few customers.
The sellers of those items said, the customers used to rush for panjabee and shoes in the last moment of the Eid.
But parents have started to buy those

 items for their kids right now.
“We are now selling panjabees for kids. The adult customers panjabee would be sold the last moment of the Eid shopping,” said Raisuddin, a panjabee shop keepers in the area.
Similarly, shoe traders also started selling of shoes for the kids right not, but we are waiting for full-fledged selling to the youths and adults customers in the nearing days of the Eid, they said.
After talking with the shop keepers and consumers it has been clear that the middle income group of people started Eid shopping to avoid price hiking in nearest days of the Eid.
On the other hand, people who avoid to rush in markets of the last moment of the Eid also started shopping earlier.
