The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), was observed here as elsewhere across the country on Tuesday with due religious fervor and solemnity.Various organisations and institutions including Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB), mosque and madrasa authorities, and literary and religious bodies chalked out elaborate programmes in observance of the Day.The programmes included arranging competitions of Hamd and Naat and religious songs for the students of different educational institutions at different venues followed by prize giving ceremonies.A colourful rally “Jasne Julush” was brought out from city’s Saheb Bazar area and ended at Shah Mukhdum Dargah Mosque after parading the main city thoroughfares.Later, they offered a special prayer seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.Special prayers, Zikir, Doa and Milad Mahfil, discussion, feeding of orphans and destitute and processions to welcome the holy Miladunnabi were the main features.A huge procession titled “Jashne Julush” was also brought out in the city under the auspices of Gausul Azam Gausia, Talime Quran Tamauafi, Eske Nabi in the morning.Hundreds of devout Muslims took part in doa and milad mahfils and offered special prayers for continuous peace, prosperity, progress and development of the country and its people and the Muslim Ummah.Rangpur from BSS adds: The Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi was observed through daylong programmes here yesterday with due religious fervour, solemnity and fresh call for following ideals of the greatest man on earth Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).The Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB), Bangladesh Shishu Academy, different institutions and organisations including mosque authorities, literary and religious bodies chalked out elaborate programmes in observance of the Day.In Rangpur city, the district office of IFB organised competitions of Hamd and Naat-e-Rasul and religious songs for students of different educational institutions and prizes were distributed among the winners.The district office of the IFB in association with different religious organisations brought out Jashne Juluse Eid-e-Miladunnabi, a colourful procession in the main streets of the divisional city.The IFB organised the main seminar on the life and deeds of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) at its auditorium and many other organisations arranged discussions and the authorities of different madrasas chalked out similar programmes.Deputy Director of IFB Rangpur M Saidur Rahman Sayeed delivered the welcome speech narrating the importance of the Holy Day.Former Principal of Teesta Kamil Madrasha Moulana Mohammad Amini presented the keynote paper on the life and deeds of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).President of Rangpur Awami Olama League and Peer Saheb of Barkotia Khanka Sharif Alhaj Shah Ahmed Sayeed took part as the main discussant and elaborately narrated the life and deeds of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).Former Principal of Patgram Kamil Madrasha Moulana Mohammad Shahidul Islam and Office Secretary of Rangpur district unit of Bangladesh Awami League Tauhidur Rahman Tutul also participated in the discussion.
