The Muslim Ummah of Dupchanchia Upazila under Bogura has celebrated the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi amid deep religious festivity and fervor on Wednesday.
The devotees across the country believe today is the anniversary of birth and demise of Prophet Muhammad. Islamic Foundation published special supplement marking the day.
Meanwhile, the national flag hoisted in government, semi-government, autonomous, private buildings and all the armed forces installations across the district.
The Imams, who said congregational prayer, have sought eternal blessings for the people’s welfare alongside peace and harmony in the district, country and elsewhere in the earth.
Different social, cultural, religious, the Islamic Foundation (IF) have chalked out elaborate programmes to mark the day, said supervisor Mahmudul Islam of IF.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), was observed here as elsewhere in the country with due religious fervor and solemnity on Wednesday.
The traditional colourful rally ‘Jasne Julush’ was brought out from city’s Saheb Bazar area around 8:30am. The rally ended at Shah Mukhdum Dargah Mosque after parading the main city thoroughfares.
