Eid celebration goes on with festive mood

The greatest religious festival of the Muslims across the Chattogram elsewhere in the country celebrated with religious fervor and festivity mood on Wednesday last and the celebration is still going on .
Eid celebrations began in the port city after o Eid Jammat at over 2,780 Eidgahs in the port city and its adjacent district amid tight security measures.
Local administration, Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) and Chattogram Central Eid Jammat Committee (CCEJC) sources said all preparations of Eid venues has been completed in the city under the auspices of Chattogram district administration, Metropolitan and district Police, upazila administrations and other religious organizations for peaceful celebration of the festival with due solemnity and fervor before the Eid Jammat on Eid congregations.
Around 259 Eid congregations held this year at the traditional and temporary venues in the city under the supervision of Chattogram Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) on the holy occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The main Eid congregation of CCEJC held at MA Aziz stadium at 8 am where Principal of the Baitus Sharaf Madrasha Moulana Saiyed Abu Noman conducted the prayer.The other main Eid Jamaats held at different venues including Andarkillah Shahi Jame Mosque, Laldighi Maidan, Parade Ground, Pologround Maidan, Shah Amanat Shah (R) Dargah Maidan, Port Colony Jam-e-Mosque, Metropolitan Police line Maidan, Agrabad Jamboree field, Baizeed Bostami (R) Dargah Maidan at the same time.
On the other hand, CCC also arranged a total of 165 Eid congregations on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr at its 41 Ward under the supervision of the concerned ward Councillors. The decision was taken in a co-ordination meeting recently held .
However, the two grand Eid Jammats under the auspices of CCC was held at Jamiatul Falah Complex Mosque at 7.45 am and 8-15 am respectively.
District administration sources said the national flag hoisted atop all government and private buildings, special munajats offered at all Eid-ul-Fitr congregations and improved diets served among inmates of the hospitals, orphanages, jail and Shishu Paribars on the Eid day.
Upazila administrations and district administration sources said a total of 2521 Eid congregations at different venues of the 15 upazilas in the district by the respective Eid management committees were arranged.
Thousands of Muslim devotees took part in the Eid-ul-Fitr congregations and offerd special prayers seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country, its people and whole Muslim Ummah.
Rain fails dampen Eid celebration : Despite incessant rain, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest religious festival of Muslims was celebrated on Wednesday in the port city and elsewhere in the district with due religious fervor and zeal.
Eid prayers were offered in early morning in mosques and other outdoor makeshift venues.
A total of 259 Eid congregations including three big ones were held at M A Aziz Stadium and Jamiatul Falah Mosque were held under the auspices of Chattogram Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and Chattogram City Corporation ( CCC) respectively.
A large number of devotees participated in the gatherings and prayed for divine blessing for the peace, prosperity and stability of the country as well for the Muslim Ummah.
After the prayers, people were seen exchanging greetings and embracing each others in the spirit of brotherhood, love and equality.
Other major Eid Congregation were held at Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque, Laldhighi Maidan, Parade Maidan, Masjeed-e-Baitus Sharf at Kadamtali, Pologround Railway Public High School Maidan, Shah Amanat Shah (Rh)Dargah Maidan, Metropolitan Police Line Maidan, Agrabad Jamboree field, Baizeed Bostami (Rh) Dargah Mosque.
City Mayor A Z M Nasir Uddin, deputy minister for education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, former minister Nurul Islam, BSC, Divisional Commissioner Abdul Mannan, Chattogram south district Awami League President Muslem Uddin Ahmed, Jatiya Party presidium member President Solyman Alam Shet, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Ilias Hossain and Jatiya Party leader Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Jamiatulfalah Mosque.
On this occasion, improved diets were served at the hospitals, jails, orphanages and youth juveniles centers run by the Social Welfare departments.
The festival was also celebrated at fourteen upazilas of the district with huge enthusiasm.
