A Dhaka court yesterday placed Maulana Ataullah Ameni, Hefazat-e-Islam Central Committee Assistant Secretary General and Dhaka City Joint General Secretary on a six-day fresh remand. Meanwhile, his five-day remand in the case filed with Paltan Police Station ended.
On the same day, Maulana Ehtehsamul Haque Sakhi, Assistant Office Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan unit of Hefazat-e-Islam and the General Secretary of Chhatra Samaj, was put on
a fresh remand for two days in a case filed over the mayhem in Baitul Mukarram mosque.
Magistrate Baki Billah of Dhaka CMM Court passed the orders after hearing on Wednesday.
Earlier, Ehtehsamul Haque’s four days remand ended and the prosecution sought a seven-day remand afresh for him while the court granted a two-day remand in a case filed with Paltan Police Station after hearing.
