Prof. Sayeed Matinul Haq alias Jolly, a former teacher of Botany of Bagerhat Govt. P C College and an inhabitant of Mithapukurpar of Bagerhat district town breathed his last in private Medical College Hospital in Khulna on Saturday while he was undergoing treatment.
He was 74.
He left behind wife, one daughter, grand children and a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn his death. He was pious, honest, generous, well-behaved and amiable in nature all through his life in the true sense of the tern. He was born in an aristocratic Muslim family of Bagerhat district town. His father late Sayeed Mostazabul Haq was a renowned lawyer of Bagerhat district Bar. He started his teaching career as a lecturer in Botany of Bagerhat Govt. P C College in the year 1973 and he retired as an Associate Professor of the department from Khulna Govt. Women’s College in the year of 2002.
