Educational instns urged to introduce study loan

Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury urged the educational institutions to take initiatives to introduce study loan and bring opportunities of paid internship at different institutions for insolvent but meritorious students.
She said this on Monday while addressing as the chief guest at a function of scholarship distribution among insolvent and meritorious students at Professor Abdullah Faruk Multipurpose Hall of Dhaka University Business Studies Faculty.
DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique, Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor SK Sur Chowdhury and Prime Insurance Managing Director Mohammad Khanam joined the function, among others, with Business Faculty Dean Professor Shibli Rubayat-ul Islam in the chair.
Terming the introduction of scholarship distribution for insolvent students a great initiative, the speaker urged the privileged people to bring opportunities for underprivileged people for their survival.
Fifty students were given scholarships in the function.
