Agri loan disbursed in Sylhet, Dupchanchia

Rajshahi Krishi Unnayon bank (RAKUB) Gabtoly Branch has disbursed a total TK. 2, 21, 17000 in 2016-17 FY among the acute distress farmers in Bogra district. This branch has been playing a vital role in changing the socio-economic condition of its clients having established in the upazila, demanded beneficiaries. The bank has been operating its banking activities for the welfare of the clients.
According to sources, till October, 16 the branch distributed a total of TK. 2.6 million for cereal TK. 0.15 for fisheries whereas target was 1.5 million, TK. 0.47 million for livestock whereas target was 4.6 million, TK. 10.20 million for agriculture whereas target was 20.50 million, TK. 9.5 million for agri-based industry whereas target was 0.8 million, TK. 4.2 million for small and medium enterprise (SME) whereas target was 10.75 million and tk. 1.13 million for other sectors while target was 8.3 million among the members.
A farmer Bakul Mia, 46, son of Nasiyotzaman at Buruj village in Nepaltoly union said, “I have brought three bighas of land under T-Aman cultivation borrowing TK. 20 thousand from RAKUB Gabtoly branch and expect TK. 40 thousand will be profit if the weather remain favouravle.” “Last year I took agri-loan from the branch in 10 percent of interest.” he added.
Another farmer Prodip Kumar Majumder son of Monoranjon Kumar Majumder said, he took TK. 25 thousand loan for cultivating potato in his land. If he achieves a bumper production of potato and good price, he will pay the loan harvesting the crops. He again said that RAKUB Gabtoly branch disburse short term loan among the huge farmers every season for the betterment of the poor and marginal farmers.
Beneficiary Abdur Rahman son of Abdul Zobbar at Dalirchar village said, earlier, the loan recipients were also imparted need- base training on the respective trades to make their purpose a grand success before loan distribution. The clients who received loan from the bank are grateful to the bank as they are changing their socio-economic condition gradually, he urged.

Mahmudul Alom Mohshin, manager of RAKUB Gabtoly branch, said the mission and vision of the bank is to alleviate poverty from the bank members through self reliance by credit support in different income- generating activities. The loan is distributed to the farmer on easy terms without any hassle and the recovery rate against the loan disbursed by the bank is 100 per cent, he added.
Sylhet Correspondent adds: Rural and Agriculture loan openly distributed by Agroni Bank, Lalabazar branch has distributed rural and agriculture loan among the marginal farmers and distressed people at a function at Lalabazar Union Parished Complex on wednesday .
