Staff Reporter :The Education Ministry on Monday served show cause notices to seven school and college inspectors for providing wrong information about 19 institutions under Dhaka, Rajshahi and Dinajpur education boards taking bribes.The Ministry asked them to explain as to why they should not be suspended. The officials are Inspector of Dhaka Education Board (College) Dr Ashfakus Salehin, Inspector of Dhaka Education Board (School) Shahedul Kabir Chowdhury, Deputy Inspector of Dhaka Education Board (College) Adwaita Kumar Ray, Inspector of Dinajpur Education Board (School) Rabindra Narayan Vattacharya, Inspector of Rajshahi Education Board (School) Debashis Ranjon Ray, and Deputy Inspectors of Rajshahi Education Board (School) Durul Huda and Manjur Rahman Khan. The inspectors misled the government in order to help the institutions to get Monthly Pay Order (MPO) facilities, an official of Education Ministry told The New Nation seeking anonymity.The education inspectors gave wrong reports on the number of GPA 5 scorers and other issues of the institutions, the official added.Dr Ashfakus Salehin visited the Satarkul School and College in the capital’s Badda area and submitted false information taking many benefits from the institution. The Ministry issued show cause notice against Adwaita Kumar Ray for his irregularities as he received money in the name of giving Monthly Pay Order (MPO) facilities from Charteki Girls School and College in Kishoreganj and KJS Pilot Model Institution and College in Gopalganj.Shahedul Kabir Chowdhury provided wrong information about SM Model High School in Maksudpur of Gopalganj by taking bribes from the school authorities. Rabindra Narayan Vattacharya took huge facilities from Badinarpara High School in Gaibandha, Dholarhat Girls High School in Tagoregaon and Uttar Nawtola Dimukhi High School in Nilphamari. Durul Huda submitted reports to the Ministry with wrong information taking extra facilities about Bagsara Girls School in Rajshahi, Chatra High School in Naugaon, Saharpukur Girls High School in Bogra, LBC Ideal Girls High School and Jambaria Girls High School in Chapainawabganj. Manjur Rahman Khan got show cause notice for providing wrong information about Dhanora Chakprobhuram High School in Rajshahi and Buri Bottola Girls High School in Natore. He also received financial support form the schools’ authorities. Debashis Ranjon Ray received money from Boenuddin Girls School in Pabna, Bilkishari High School and Enayetpur Ideal High School in Naugaon and Pachgachi Bohumukhi High School and assured the schools’ authorities about the MPO.
