Minister for Religious Affairs Principal Matiur Rahman said the mosque- based education programme is going on at 36,768 mosques across the country.
The minister said this in the Jatiya Sangsad while replying to a question from treasury bench lawmaker M Abdul Latif on Wednesday. He said an equal number of teachers was appointed for running the programme.
He said the government allocated Taka 122.77 crore under the annual development programme (ADP) in the fiscal 2013- 14 for the purpose.
