EC working to hold fair RCC election

Chief Election Commissioner, KM Nurul Huda said, EC has been working to hold a free, fair and credibleelection.
The CEC was speaking to the journalists at a press conference after attending a meeting with the divisional and district level law enforcing officials on election security measures at Divisional Commissioner’s conference room on Thursday noon.
He said, there is no reason to deploy army to maintain law and order situation in the poll. So, army will not be deployed. Four tiers of security measures will be taken to hold a peaceful and fair election.
A team of 22-23 armed law enforcing members will be deployed in each vote centers. RAB, BGB, Police and Intelligence agency personnel will also keep vigilance in those centers. Meanwhile, some 22 teams have been working to monitor and keep vigilance on violation of election code of conduct. Some 33 executive magistrates will start working in the city form Friday to avert any untoward incident.
Intelligence vigilance has been reinforced to stop buying votes with black money.
He said, we are planning to use Electronic Voting Machine [EVM] in one vote center. But if the voters of the center will not feel comfort to use it, we will not apply. We have also a plan to set up CC camera in one vote center.  
He urged all quarters including voters, candidates and political parties’ cooperation to hold a free, fair and impartial Rangpur city poll.
Secretary of the Election Commission, Helal Uddin, Rangpur Divisional Commissioner, Kazi Hasan Ahamed, Rangpur range Police DIG, Khandoker Golam Faruk, Deputy Commissioner, Wahiduzzaman, Superintendent of Police, Mizanur Rhaman and Returning Officer, Suvash Chandra Sarker were present in the press conference.
Later, the CEC met a view exchange meeting with Mayoral contestants and councilors candidates of RCC poll at Rangpur Zilla School auditorium in the afternoon.
