The Election Commission on Wednesday formed two probe committees to investigate the incidents of harassments of journalists and denying their access to polling centres during the city corporations polls held on April 28.
A three-member committee, headed by the Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) of Dhaka, will investigate the allegations raised by electronic and print media in connection with Dhaka North and Dhaka South City Corporation elections.
Another three-member committee, headed by the Additional
Divisional Commissioner (General) of Chittagong, will investigate the allegations of harassments of journalists during the Chittagong City Corporation polls.
Both the committees have been asked to submit their reports to the Election Commission within the next one month, according to two separate notifications issued by the EC.
