LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Friday termed Ektee Bari Ektee Khamar Project as major weapon to alleviate poverty as the project will benefit 60 lkah families or three crore people.
He was addressing a session with divisional commissioners on ways to achieve targets of EBEK project of the government at the Cabinet Division conference room at the Secretariat.
Mosharraf said EBEK is the only project in the world which is contributing to make poor people self-reliant through micro savings instead of microcredit.
He said the existing load system is as like as a net as poor people can never come out from the net.
