Experts at a programme on Friday stressed on Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA), saying that it can be effective in ensuring economic development if it is used while addressing the climate change issue in the country.
We are facing huge economic losses as our lives and livelihoods are affected due to negative effects of climate change. EbA can help address the climate related issue, they said.
There is no policy or strategy for addressing climate change impacts in our fisheries sector and our fisheries policies lack long term planning, they said, calling for integrating EbA into relevant policies and programmes.
