Easy win for Rangpur Riders

Rangpur Riders posted an easy six-wicket win over Dhaka Dynamites in their Twenty20 cricket match of the 3rd Bangladesh Premier League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday.
Electing to bat first, Dhaka Dynamites made 135 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Rangpur romped home scoring 136 for the loss of four wickets when they had 10 balls to spare.
Rangpur Riders made a modest start with Lendl Simons and Soumya Sarkar, the two openers added together 38 runs in the opening stand before Soumya Sarkar (21) was caught at the mid-off by Shadman Islam off Abul Hasan.
Then Simmons (18) was caught at the point by Mosaddek Hossain off Abul Hasan when Rangpur’s score was 55 for the loss of two wickets.
Skipper Shakib Al Hasan (8) was caught and bowled by Mustafizur Rahman when Rangpur’s total was 74 for the loss of three wickets.
Later, Darren Sammy and Jahurul Islam contributed together 45 runs before Sammy was bowled out by Mohammad Irfan when Rangpur’s score was 119 for the loss of four wickets.
Jahurul Islam remained unbeaten with 35. His 26-ball innings was ornamented with four fours.
Abul Hasan was the most successful batsman of Dhaka Dynamites with two wickets for 25 runs.
Dhaka Dynamites faced an early jolt as they lost their first three wickets for 39 runs. Dhaka Dynamites could build only one notable partnership.
Kumar Sangakkara and Nasir Hossain put on together 45 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Sangakkara was run out by Shakib Al Hasan when Dhaka’s total was 84 for the loss of four wickets.
Sangakkara hit 29 from 23 balls including two sices.
After departure of Sangakkara, Nasir Hossain was bowled by Arafat Sunny when Dhaka’s score was 101 for the loss of five wickets.
Hossain made 30 off 28 balls with one four and one six.
Earlier, opener Shadman Islam (16) was run out by Soumya Sarkar when Dhaka’s score was 19 for the loss of one wicket.
Later, Shamsur Rahman (4), the other opener was trapped leg before wicket by Shakib Al Hasan when Dhaka’s total was 35 for the loss of two wickets.
One-down Saikat Ali (18) was caught by Thisara Perera off Darren Sammy when Dhaka’s total was 39 runs for the loss of three wickets.
Ryan ten Doeschate (6) was caught by Jahurul Islam off Arafat Sunny when Dhaka’s score was 112 for the loss of six wickets.
Mosaddek Hossain (13) was run out by wicketkeeper Mohammad Mithun when Dhaka’s total was 125 for the loss of seven wickets.
Arafat Sunny was the pick of Rangpur bowlers with two wickets for 18 runs.
