A Mobile Court conducted by Mohammad Mosabbedrul Islam, UNO (Upazila Nirbahi Officer) and Executive Magistrate of Bagerhat Sadar convicted Abdul Kader (33), driver of a battery run easy-bike and sentenced him to suffer simple imprisonment for one (01) month on Sunday noon on the charge of teasing a girl student of Bagerhat Government Girls’ High School. Later he was sent to Bagerhat jail at noon. The convicted easy-bike driver is the son of one Hekmat Shaikh of village Kashipur within Dema Union under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila.
The prosecution story, in short, is that on the day at noon when the easy-bike driver tried to talk with the victim girl just in front of the school she (the victim girl student) identified him as the teaser of the girl in presence of a number of guardians. Then the guardians caught him red handed and brought the matter to the notice of the Upazila Nirbahi Office Mohammad Mosabberul Islam who rushed to the spot, set up a Mobile Court and awarded the culprit the easy-bike driver the aforesaid punishment.
