People’s illness is increasing gradually. One of the reasons of it is use of additional chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the cultivation of food that we are eating in our everyday life. These chemicals are going into out body. Thus our kidney is being damaged and cancer is causing. One of the simple solutions of this problem is to increase the use of worm fertilizers. The environment friendly agriculture will be developed if the use of worm fertilizer in biological mode increases.
It can reduce the cost of cultivation and also the risk of health complications will also be reduced. Hopefully, the interests of farmers in use of organic fertilizer against chemical fertilizers, especially worn fertilizers are increasing. The farmers also become financially benefited. A former member Abul Hashem, a resident of Tangab Union Mymensingh is cultivating worm fertilizer for his own use as well as selling to others.
He started production of worm fertilizer in 2017 in his houses as a mini ‘factory’ of this fertilizer. From here he can produce about three tons of worm fertilizers per month. Every ton is sold at 14 to 15 thousand taka. He sells fertilizers of 42 to 45 thousand per month. He can earn 3 lakh taka per year. Now Abul Hashem (58) is self-reliant. After the start of the earthworm fertilizer production, he did not look back. It has brought this unthinkable success in his life.
It is seen in the house, making compost fertilizers in a front of the house. The shed house is 208 fours made of cement. Abul Hashem said, dung, tea leaves, kachuripana trailers and egg shells, poultry shit and pieces are mixed with pieces. They are shared in the four. At least one thousand worms are given in each. Through sacks are covered with sacks. In this process, it takes two months to produce fertilizer fertilizer.
He also said that using this fertilizer, he is cultivating rice in his Mehrani tree garden and 1 acre of 14 percent of the land. Gafargaon Upazila Agriculture Officer Anwar Hossain said in this context that the farmer of Tangb village Abul Hashem, the entrepreneur of the commercially producing fertilizer fertilizers.
He is making special contributions to the Vermi Compost in the Vuri Compost to protect the soil’s health. Seeing Abul Hashem, now we are cultivating worms in the upazila. They have been successful in the fight to be self-reliant.
