Body of dowry victim unearthed for fresh investigation

The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) unearthed the body of a dowry victim Lubna Akater from Miskin Shah graveyard in Chittagong after five and half months of her killing.
 Sources said, Lubna Akter, a housewife and mother of two daughters was killed mysteriously at her father -in-law’s home at Monu Meaji Lane at Chawkbazar in the port city on July 16.
The relatives of the father -in- law house of the victim declared that Lubna committed suicide. Later, she was buried at Miskin Shah graveyard.
Later, Rehena Sultana, the mother of the victim filed a case before Magistrate Court in the port city alleging that Lubna Akter was killed by her husband Mohammad Mabudur Rahman and his relatives for dowry on November 6.
She accused nine persons including Mohammad Mabudur Rahman in the case. She also mentioned in the case that six persons are witnesses of the murder.
Later, the court considered the case of Rehena Sultana, the mother of the victim and directed PBI to investigate the case. PBI received the direction from court on December 15. The PBI unearthed the body the dowry victim Lubna Akater from Miskin Shah graveyard in the port city Chittagong after five and half months of her killing.
At that time, Executive Magistrate of Chittagong district Administration Tahmilur Rahman and PBI officials and relatives of the victim were present. The body was sent to the forensic department of Chittagong Medical College Hospital for fresh autopsy.
