E-orange owner, 2 others on fresh remand

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court (CMM) of Dhaka placed E-Orange owner Sonia Mehzabin and two others on one-day fresh remand each in a fraud case of Tk 1.20 crore.
Magistrate Shahidul Islam of the CMM Court passed the order after hearing both sides on Thursday.
Two other accused people are Sonia’s husband Masukur Rahman and Chief Operating Officer of the E-commerce company Aman Ullah.
Earlier on October 7, another student of Dhaka College Sazzad Islam filed the case with Hatirjheel Police Station of the city.
According to the case statement, complainant Sazzad, his brother and a friend of him deposited Tk 1.2 crore to buy motorcycle and home appliances from the platform, e-orange. But, the organization did not give delivery of products ordered by about one lakh customers.
Earlier, on August 17, a customer of the company Taherul Islam filed a case against the three accused with Gulshan Police Station on the charge of embezzlement of Tk 11 hundred crore while the court took the case into cognizance and sent the accused to the jail rejecting their bail pleas.
The following day Aman Ullah was arrested.
